Asha Saraf Awards for Excellence in Teaching at the GHS, B Narayanpura

After we presented the award at the school at Garudacharpalya, we proceeded towards the next school, which was the Govt. High School, B Narayanpura (7th December 2021). From Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar, we had Rtn. Wg Cdr Ashok Saraf, T-E-A-C-H Committee Chairperson Rtn. Philip George and Community Service Director Rtn. Narssimhan Kannan who attended the award ceremony.

Once we reached the school, we were taken to a large quadrangle where a stage had been created. The children were all waiting sitting on the ground. There were a lot of school authorities on the stage.
The event started with the traditional lighting of the lamp, an invocation song and some speeches from all the school authorities. Rtn. Philip introduced Rtn. Ashok Saraf and why he instituted this award. This was followed by Rtn. Wg Cdr Ashok Saraf who spoke to the students about why he instituted these awards. He mentioned that his wife was a teacher and this award has been instituted in her loving memory.
After his speech, the Asha Saraf Award for Excellence in Teaching was given to Ms. Brinda V. All the school teachers were very proud of her and congratulated her and took group photographs with her in the centre. It was very heartening to see the camaraderie between the teachers.
