Village Adoption: The Club has adopted three villages - Garudacharpalya,B.Narayanpura and Hoody situated in the suburbs of Bangalore.The village adoption programme centres around providing education, health care, drinking water and sanitation.



Education : Transforming a village primary school of 30 students,to a large educational institution of 1200 students at B.Narayanapura, is the cornerstone of our community service. This high school is poised to become a junior college shortly.So far, over Rs.1 million has been spent by the club in providing classrooms, school furniture, gymnasium, laboratory equipment, drinking water and sanitatin facilities.

The club has also been instrumental in starting a Learning Resourse Centre for Children with learning disabilities at Cathedral School by constructing two classrooms and providing the necessary furniture.

Drinking Water, Health and Humanitarian projects: The club has provided safe drinking water at 8 villages benefiting 20,000residents.The club regulary organises polio immunisation, family welfare, blood donation, cancer detection, eye and dental camps.Besides,the club is actively involved in prevention of drug abuse and runs a councelling centre. Assistance is also given to institutions such as the Spastic Society of India, National Institute for the blind, Sheela Kothawala Institute for the Hearing Impaired and similar other institutions for the handicapped.Employment opportunities have been for the physically handicapped by setting manned public telephone booths and by providing placement services in industrial and commercial establishments.

Care for the Aged: We have built two cottages at the Cheshire Home at Whitefield to provide accommodation for destitute and aged women. The club is actively involved in the premises, providing health care and other basic needs of the inmates.
A senior citizens club has been started in Indiranagar,and is functioning in our Rotary House of Service.

Hospice: The club has embarked on an ambitious project,jointly with the Bangalore Chapter of the Indian Cancer Society, to provide care for terminally ill cancer patients. The project is likely to cost over Rs.10 million.

Vocational Service: The club encourages high vocational and high ethical standards by honouring public servants, employers,employees and outstanding entrepreneurs. Management development programmes, work-shops, seminars and exhibitions are regularly organised.In addition, career guidence programmes for high school students are conducted.

International Services: The club organises cultural programmes and get- togethers for the international community in Bangalore to foster international understanding,goodwill and peace.The club continues to strive to find partners for joint projects with Rotary Clubs abroad. The club supports the foster parents scheme of a Sri Lankan Rotary Club and has paricipated in a donation-in-kind programme with a club in Egypt.

Rotary Foundation: The per Capita contribution from our club to the Rotary Foundation is the Highest in the District.To date our members have donated over US$90,000 to the Rotary Foundation.

Youth Service: The club works closely with the youth through its Rotaract and Interact Clubs and provides opportunities for leadership development, promoting of arts, culture, sports and community service.

Fund Raising: To raise funds for its various projects the club conducts fund-raising programmes by organising Exhibitions, Seminars, Souvenirs, Raffle schemes and Musical evenings.The club has been organising, since 1984, the highly popular ROTEX exhibitions. Also, the members personally contribute towards these projects. To fund some of the community service projects, the club has obtained Matching Grants from the Rotary Foundation in partership with Rotary Clubs of Wilmington West and Evanston in USA and Rotary Club of Mulgrave in Australia.
